Web Design & Development
CORE Fitness Studio
CORE Fitness Studio is a personal training and fitness space in the center of Cluj-Napoca. After more than a decade in the industry and two gyms opened, their team was ready to evolve their brand presence online.
I was brought in to redesign and rebuild their website from the ground up — turning it into a professional, well-structured, and brand-consistent platform that supports both communication and business goals.

CORE’s old website no longer represented the current standard of the studio — either visually or functionally. It was slow to load, difficult to navigate, and had a chaotic structure that made important information hard to find. The design was outdated, off-brand, and didn’t reflect the atmosphere or professionalism of the gym. Photos were low quality and no longer relevant, and key functionalities — like a blog, updated pricing, or newsletter — were missing entirely.
This redesign was not just about aesthetics — it was about creating a platform that worked better for users, aligned with the brand, and supported CORE’s business goals.

Discovery & Planning
As with every project, I started with a discovery session to identify what was still relevant from their existing website and what new requirements had emerged. We reviewed their branding, discussed content needs, defined user flows, and aligned on technical priorities (like mobile responsiveness, blog, SEO, and newsletter).
This step helped me build a clear project roadmap, timeline, and checklist for assets — including brand guidelines, existing copy, photography, and team input.

UX & Wireframes
The first design deliverable was a site map — a simplified layout showing where key sections would appear, without focusing on design or visuals. The purpose was to align on structure and logic before investing time in visual design.
Once approved, I moved into a low-fidelity wireframe stage where we added actual copy and began shaping real content structure. I collaborated with a marketing strategist and copywriter during this phase to ensure the tone matched the brand and the messaging was clear and actionable.

Visual Design
With structure and content locked, I moved to high-fidelity design in Figma. All visual decisions followed CORE’s brand guidelines — using their fonts, colors, and spacing system.

To deliver quality visuals, I collaborated with a professional photographer. We planned a shoot that included both studio portraits and action shots inside the gym. These visuals were then integrated into the final layout to add clarity, personality, and consistency.

Web Development
The site was built in Wix Studio, with responsiveness planned from the design phase to ensure a seamless experience across all devices. During development, I implemented a full range of functionalities tailored to CORE’s needs — including a blog, newsletter subscription, automated workflows, and SEO infrastructure, among others.
I also managed the content migration from the old site, coordinating with an SEO specialist to ensure all valuable data and search performance were preserved throughout the transition. Every feature was implemented with usability and long-term maintainability in mind.

Results & Reflections
CORE Fitness is known for its professionalism, experience, and care. The new website now matches that standard. It’s structured, functional, and reflects the quality of service clients experience in person — from first interaction to long-term membership.

"Our collaboration with Alex was efficient, fast, and seamless. Beyond the fact that the website was a success, the process itself was clear and easy to follow. We truly appreciated his patience in helping us understand each step along the way. We highly recommend his services — especially for his creativity and promptness. "

Discovery & Planning
The project began with a collaborative discovery session where I sat down with the Learning Lab team to deeply understand their mission, audience, and long-term vision. We explored what sets them apart, the emotions they wanted the brand to evoke, and the practical challenges they faced in communicating their message visually.
Based on this conversation, I put together a comprehensive creative brief that outlined the brand’s core values — commitment, accountability and proactivity — and set the foundation for the visual direction. This document became the reference point throughout the project, ensuring every design decision aligned with Learning Lab’s goals.
